Description

Herringbone Floor Smoked Oak, Country Grade:

This herringbone floor features a lively and strongly rustic character with texture and color tone variations, as well as natural knots. Filled cracks and knots are allowed, enhancing its unique, authentic appearance.

The total thickness of this herringbone floor is 14 mm, with a 2.5 mm thick noble oak layer, making it durable and sandable up to two times. Micro-beveled edges on all four sides highlight the larger plank format, while the brushed surface emphasizes the wood’s natural and elegant texture. This herringbone is finished with a matt lacquer, offering a surface that resembles the look of oiled finishes. The Country Grade, with filled knots, cracks, and natural tone variations, highlights the authentic beauty of oak wood, making each plank unique.

With a thermal resistance of approximately 0.1 m²K/W, this herringbone floor is compatible with underfloor heating systems, provided the installation is carried out correctly and the manufacturer’s guidelines are followed. The maximum permitted surface temperature is 29 °C, but for optimal performance, it is recommended to keep the surface temperature below 25 °C.

Installation Options for Herringbone Floor:

This herringbone can be installed using either a floating method or by gluing it directly to the subfloor.

Floating Installation: Floating installation is faster and simpler than glued installation. The planks click together with a glue-free click connection, eliminating the need for full-surface gluing. For this method, it is important to use an underlay with a compression strength of at least 220 kPa. Expansion joints are required between rooms and should be covered with T-moldings.

Glued Installation: Gluing the herringbone floor directly to the subfloor provides quieter walking sounds and eliminates the need for expansion joints between rooms, creating seamless visual and technical transitions. Additionally, glued installation results in lower thermal resistance, enabling faster heat transfer and ensuring warmth exactly when needed.

This herringbone floor combines style, durability, and versatility, making it an excellent choice for both modern and traditional interiors.
