Description
Oak Floorboards Mix
Floorboards Oak Mix is a combination of Natur, Rustic, and Country grades. This selection has a beautiful and lively appearance with natural color and structural variations. Large sound knots, filled cracks, and broken knots are allowed, as well as some sapwood, enhancing the natural beauty of the wood. The overall look of the floor is slightly rustic.
These floorboards are made entirely of solid oak wood. The edges are beveled on two long sides, and the surface is brushed, emphasizing the natural grain patterns of the oak. These floorboards can be sanded more than 10 times, making them a durable and long-lasting flooring solution. Additionally, the color of the oak floorboards can be changed multiple times during renovation.
Oak floorboards Mix are suitable for full-surface glue-down installation on plywood, OSB, or concrete subfloors. They can also be glued onto subfloors with underfloor heating. Oak wood is significantly denser than softwood, meaning its thermal resistance is lower than that of softwood flooring. The thermal resistance of these floorboards is comparable to a standard 14 mm thick engineered floorboard with a softwood base.
Advantages of Full-Surface Gluing
Full-surface gluing is one of the best installation methods when looking for a durable, stable, and long-lasting flooring solution. This method involves gluing the entire surface of the floorboards to the subfloor, providing several benefits:
Increased stability and durability
Reduced footstep and impact noise
Ideal for underfloor heating as it ensures faster heat transfer
No need for expansion joints between rooms
Finishing of Floorboards
Floorboards Oak Mix come with a factory-brushed surface, so no additional sanding is required after installation. Knots and cracks are pre-filled and sanded in the factory. After gluing the floorboards, they can be finished with lacquer, oil, or hardwax oil in the desired shade. It is also possible to order factory-finished floorboards for an additional cost.
