Before purchasing the material, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with its wear class, i.e., resistance to wear. It should be noted that the wear class does not indicate scratch resistance but rather resistance to abrasive wear. With enough effort, almost all materials can be scratched (the most scratch-resistant materials are sapphire and diamond, but flooring is not made from them).
Some floor coverings are more resistant to scratches than others, but the wear class is not a direct measurement of scratch resistance. The wear class of floor coverings indicates the material’s resistance to abrasion caused by walking on it. If you are looking for a durable solution against scratches from dogs’ or cats’ claws, we recommend using SPC/LVT vinyl flooring, Quick-Step laminate flooring, or ceramic tiles.
